More about Pentland Hills

There are thirty residents (on average), with one nurse, and five care assistants on duty at any one time. Carol Bell is the main nurse, in charge of the unit, but she wasn't there today due to the weather. B has already grown particularly fond of one girl, Mariana, from Eastern Europe, whose name I can't remember, but she's happy for B to call her Pixie, because she reminds her of Pixie. She'll shortly be moving from day shift to night shift, so it's nice to know that B will have her there at night time if she needs any help.
By the way, I asked today, and they said that we can phone any time, apart from at meal times (12 to 1, and 5 to 6). They say that it's unpredictable - sometimes when we call they may be very busy and hassled, but not at other times. It varies a lot. When I was there, they were unbelievably quiet at some times (five carers, all just sitting in chairs, apparently doing nothing) and at other times, they were obviously run off their feet.

The Care Home seems to have lots of activities that are well organised - one activity for each day of the week, as these notices show.......

And last of all, there's a lovely big bouncy Boxer who seems to visit every week.
