From Zander

Hi Kids (and Happy Birthday Tom),
Ian Paterson's funeral was amazing yesterday. Limekilns church pretty full, and then back to Craig Dubh where the family had done all the catering. EVERYONE was there: Pip and Pat and Sam and Lulu and Robin and two wee boys, Alan and Alison and their kids, Dave, Jill and Chris, Lisa, Becky, , Niall and Jock and Inez, Ian's older
brother, who has just written a short booklet about his life. There were thousands of pictures on the walls, of Ian at various stages of his life and his cars and kids, and Vicky was in splendid form.
Joanna was there VERY early, and she can tell you more I expect. I think the plan is that Vicky moves down to Jill around Christmas but obviously it is not the best market to sell Craig Dubh, and they may rent it out.
A week earlier was Andrew Lumsden's funeral, with Yvonne back from Brisbane for it and lots of locals we hadn't seen for years.
Just for interest, I wrote to Bridget Wedderburn of Windermere, who appeared when I goggled the name, and she is a star squash player for Kendal. Back has come a lovely long letter, explaining where she fits in. Not close to us - the N.England Wedderburns, who must have crept across the Border at some time. By the way, you can access the whole of the Wedderburn Book on line, from Harvard Library. Amazing thing the web, isn't it?
Won my squash last night, and off to curling against Tulliallan tonight. B. finalised her kit for Gillian's wedding on 29th, and G has asked me to "give her away." I must polish my sporran...
Lots of love,
Zander and B.
