Well done Pete!

Hi everyone,

This is just great; how close can we get without actually being there? This is a step beyond e-mail, with all the "posts" open & lined up at your scrolling fingertips... so easier to read faster... and photos already opened up = no waiting, waiting, waiting... Kind of inspiring :)) Well done Pete!

Gets a BIG resolution from me to use this regularly... like, whenever I get to reviewing the week and need to get something wonderfully memorable down on "paper" so I won't forget it; this way I can share it at the same time with some of the people who mean most to me, which is why I'm so often noting it down so that I won't forget / will remember to pass it on... but which I rarely actually do in the end... which makes this potentially way more than excellent!!!

We're through our first week back in St. Petersburg (Russia) after an incredible August break; 12 days in Crimea (Southern Ukraine) - hot, Black Sea surf, glorious fruit - then 2 weeks between Ireland with Pete & Joyce in Bray (very short, very sweet family reunion), and Scotland with Z & B at Lennox Street in Edinburgh, also catching up with many other close friends reunited near Perth... we didn't quite get up and into the Highlands (next time in 2010?), but did get down for a nice lunch with Gillian & Michael near Kelso and a good taste of the Borders countryside. Dropped by P&J on the return trip to Finland for an action-packed last few days. But for the obvious restrictions, we could so easily have spent another joyful week everywhere we went...

Plans have arisen for us to visit both Australia and USA/Canada in 2-3 years, when James will be 12 and Kirsty 10... Yes, we're finally getting bold and stepping out; Keeping it all in prayer :)

We watched an excellent film last night; "Faith Like Potatoes". Based on a true story, set in South Africa, very well done... Words fail me - especially my own - it is simply well worth the effort of an internet search-and-buy for the DVD... If you do, and you're disappointed, I'll buy it off you!

I'd like to attempt some family portraits (pics with text) eventually, but realistically that is still looking a wee way into the future; will get a recent family picture up soon.

Always missing you guys - that's YOU if you're reading this :)

Lots of love from us all,

Chris, Nadia, James, Kirsty xxxx

Hey Chris! Great that you are using the blog like this - it's exactly what is meant to happen :-) Comments like my one here are ok to reply to folk's posting like your one, but if we can each send a full posting every week, won't that be great?
The really amazing thing is that this stays here forever (ok, for a long time) and so we can look back in the archive in future times. Who knows, our kids may be able to look back one day when they are grown. This is public at the moment - anyone can look and comment, and we can make it private if we need to at some stage but it's kind of fun letting friends and rellies look in too if they want........ love from Ireland - Pete
