Well..... you know how you mean to do some things and just don't get around to it? I am killing two birds with one stone here:
1) I have been meaning to do a family blog for ages but didn't really know how......
2) I meant to write a family newsletter thingie to email contacts as a Christmas card but never got around to it. And anyway, I have the usual misgivings about newsletters - how to stop them from being self-important brags about wonderful children and smart career moves and idyllically happy lives...........
So this is going to be an irregularly updated diary of the lives of Joyce, Pete, Anna and Ella, taking the place of the occasional newsletter that I used to send to family, and taking the place of an annual Christmas newsletter. To start with, then, here is a brief account of what we have all been up to for the past year.
