B, Jo and Sarah visiting Ireland

We had a lovely visit last week from B, Jo and Sarah. They came across for a week, during Sarah's mid-term.
Jo worked hard while she was here, sleeping in B's room, and getting up with her in the night as needed (Bgets a bit confused in the mid-night hours sometimes). Jo was also busy cooking, doing most of the family meals while she was here, and also cooking extras, like meringues, which Joyce's dad John enjoyed immensely.

Sarah had fun with her cousins, including a visit to a local bird sanctuary, where she met an owl.

Sarah also came onto television with me, on my weekly vet spot here in Ireland. You can watch by clicking here.

Joyce's Mum Peggy is now in a nursing home close to Bray, so her Dad and brother David visited us in passing - we all played table football, which is always fun.

B, Jo, Sarah and myself headed down to Hunters on their last day - it's an old Irish country house, with a lovely garden and a tradition of splendid afternoon teas. We ate first - how could we resist this spread?

After that, we went out to the garden, and took a few photos amongst the greenery and flowers. It was a fine October day - the type of weather that's rare in Ireland, but when it happens, it's hard to beat.

That's about it - I especially like the photo of Jo and Sarah blowing their cheeks out - it's a photographer's trick, meant to make your face more relaxed when you smile afterwards, but it's all in the timing.....

It was a lovely visit: B is quite frail now, and prone to falling over randomly, which can be dangerous and is very worrying. She also gets confused sometimes, although when she's well, she's still very much herself, full of laughter and chat.

I'm looking forward to my next visit to see her in Edinburgh, perhaps in December.
